Yesterday, Jonathan, Jordan, and myself spent almost the entire day in the Capitol building. That is a very beautiful building with lots of amazing artwork and history. The guided tour was okay, but I would much prefer to get a smaller tour with more time and less obstructions so I might enjoy photographing more.
Even beyond photography, there is plenty of more treasures that are left in passages and corridors that we do not get to enjoy. The sights around the city are very nice and the mall its self seems rather peaceful after the evening rush hour.
One sight I was glad I got a chance to see was the Marine Corp Band playing from the steps of the Capitol. This was a free evening concert that many people decided to take time to enjoy. The contrast of the music and the lighted Capitol against the twilight sky gave several opportunities for photographs.
All in all, great trip so far.
